This pattern with crazy giraffes is made to crochet in overlay mosaic technique.
The pattern is available in Dutch and English (both included in the purchase). This pattern has two versions. One continuous version and one version with no half giraffes. Both can be adjusted in size. Both have a written pattern and a printable chart over multiple pages. As a separate download, it also includes total counting patterns that you can use with apps such like KnitCompanion.
The continuous version has no clear end. The base is 82 stitches and 167 rows, but you can make it in any size you would like.
The version without half giraffes has a base of 135
stitches and 247 rows. You can add repeat to this per 82
stitches and 164 rows.
You can use any yarn you like for this pattern. The design remains the same.
With thicker yarn/larger crochet hook, your blanket will get bigger faster and you will make fewer repeats. With thinner yarn/smaller crochet hook, you need more repeats to achieve the same size. For this you will need more meters of yarn.

Size blanket in DK yarn*: 1 repeat ± 70×140 cm per extra repeat ± 45 cm width and 95 cm height extra.
Yarn usage*: 1 repeat ± 1000 meters dark, 1300 meters light. Per extra repeat 400 meters dark, 450 meters light extra. (Note, if you add a repeat in width and height, that’s a total of 4 repeats)
* Size and yarn usage depend on many factors. One of those is your tension (loose/tight). This can differ more than 20% per person. Are you aware you are a loose or tight crocheter? Then keep this in mind!
